DAY 1 SARRIA
Gateway to the Camino.
Arrival in Sarria, the most popular starting point for pilgrims undertaking the final section of the French Way.
Sarria preserves a strong Jacobean heritage, and its historic centre still reflects the timeless atmosphere of the medieval towns that flourished along the pilgrimage route.
Historic Walking Tour.

• Church of Santa Mariña.
• Medieval Quarter.
• Historic Camino surroundings.
During the visit, guests will learn about the origins of the pilgrimage to Santiago, the significance of the Pilgrim Credential, the symbolism of the Camino and the route's extraordinary importance in medieval Europe.

Portomarín is one of the most fascinating villages on the Camino. Following the construction of the Belesar Reservoir, the village was relocated and rebuilt stone by stone, preserving many of its historic monuments.
